Dear Odd Fellows and Pledges,

Here are some statewide Odd Fellow events that might interest you. With Dave as Grand Master of California, these are great opportunities to get outside the walls of our own Lodge and get involved with Odd Fellows at a higher level. And some of you have asked if there are events you could attend. There sure are. Here are some events for the next few months. Please mark your calendars and follow up as noted below:

1. Wednesday, June 17. Grand Master Dave is making an official visit to Campo Seco Lodge #66 in Calaveras County. The address is 11845 Main Street in Valley Springs. Meet and greet at 5 p.m., dinner served at 6 p.m. (pulled pork or barrel smoked chicken, baked beans, Cole slaw, mac salad, BBQ sauce, and homemade ice cream. There will probably be a charge for dinner. Lodge meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. This is only open to Lodge members, not pledges or guests. If you wish to attend, let me know not later than tomorrow, June 15 so we can RSVP for you.

2. Wednesday, June 24. Grand Master Dave is making an official visit to Spring Valley Lodge #316 in Arbuckle, Colusa County. The address is 601 5th Street, right in the middle of the hamlet that is Arbuckle. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. Members only. There will probably be a charge for dinner. If you wish to attend, let me know no later than next Sunday, June 21 so we can RSVP for you.

3. Saturday, June 27. Camp Festival at Three-Links Camp, Mi-Wuk Village in Tuolumne County. The festival runs all day (and also Sunday breakfast). Open to members, pledges, family and guests.

4. Tuesday, July 14. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Oakland-Encinal Lodge #3, located in Alameda. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

5. Thursday, July 23. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Auburn Lodge #7, in Auburn, Placer County. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

6. Sunday, August 2. The annual Odd Fellows Homes of California BBQ which alternates between the Saratoga Retirement Community (SRC) and the Meadows of Napa Valley (MNV). This year, the BBQ is in Saratoga. It runs from 1 to 4 p.m. and costs $10 per person. Lots of good food, in a relaxed atmosphere. SRC is a beautiful place. Carpools to this BBQ are fun. This event is open to all – including family, guests and friends.

7. Wednesday, August 5. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Morse Lodge #257, one of the San Francisco Lodges. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

8. Saturday, August 29. The “Cave” Degree is offered in Yreka, coordinated by Yreka Lodge #19. This is the 69th year they have offered it. You can watch and receive the Second Degree, given at night by the light of the moon in a cave. Members only. For more details, contact Dave at daverose@jps.net.

9. Tuesday, September 8. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Pine Tree Lodge #46 in Tuolumne County. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

10. Saturday, September 12. A reception honoring Grand Master Dave Rosenberg and Rebekah Assembly President Donna Morrison, in Sacramento. No-host social hour at 5 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by music, dancing and good fellowship. The location is Hilton Arden West at 2200 Harvard Street, Sacramento. It’s $45 for dinner. This is an evening affair open to all, and includes dinner. Our Lodge is a sponsor so we need to have a great turnout. 11. Tuesday, September 15. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Grafton Lodge #293, in the tiny town of Zamora, Yolo County. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

12. Saturday, September 19. Visit to the historic Lodge in Volcano, Amador County. We will visit this Lodge and have a quick social meeting at 11:30 a.m. and then a noon lunch in Volcano at the historic St. George Hotel Dining Room and Saloon. To RSVP contact Nancy Johnson at sewkind@comcast.net.

12. Monday, October 5. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Morningstar Lodge #20 in Placerville, El Dorado County. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

14. Thursday, October 8. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Pajaro Lodge #90 in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County.

15. Tuesday, October 13. Grand Master Dave will make an official visit to Forestville Lodge #320, in Sonoma County. Details to follow. Members only. If you are interested in attending, let me know.

16. Saturday, October 17. Our own Lodge will host a statewide reception for all the Grand Lodge and Rebekah Assembly Officers appointed by Grand Master Dave and Rebekah Assembly President Donna.
