Hey Odd Fellows —
It’s that time again — Odd Poetry is near the Odd Poet-tree at the lodge this coming Friday, December 13th at 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Given that it’s the Holiday Season AND Friday the 13th, you are encouraged, if so moved, to come with your own Holiday (or Superstitious) poems , to wit:
(Sung to the tune “God rest ye merry, gentlemen”)
God rest ye merry shoppers
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Sales, our saviours
Start before the Christmas day
To save us all from credit’s power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy
God rest ye merry shoppers
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Sales, our saviours
Start before the Christmas day
OK, OK, surely you can do better than that !! Don’t be supersticiously scared to come on down to the Lodge — at 6:30 pm on Friday the 13th !!! We are going to hold the Odd Poetry Reading on the inside on the steps up to the upper hall — Dody and Cesar permitting — so as to stay toasty and warm — and in full view of the passing crowds.
Mary Superak will be leading the Odd Poetry this Friday — so be there or be square !!!
