
4th Annual Davis Odd Fellows Chocolate Festival

If you are an aficionado of chocolate, there is good news! The “Davis Chocolate Festival” is returning on Sunday, November 3. This delicious Festival is open to the general public. The Festival takes place on both floors of the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge, 415 2nd Street, in Downtown Davis.
Tickets are $7 per person and may be purchased online at https://2019DavisChocolateFestival.eventbrite.com. And starting September 22, hard copy tickets are also available in person at Avid Reader Active, 605 2nd Street, and the Upper Crust Baking Co., 634 G Street, Davis.
Organized and hosted by the Davis Odd Fellow, the Chocolate Festival features an array of chocolate vendors providing free samples of their chocolate products. Many vendors will also have their chocolate products available for purchase. The vendors include, but are not limited to:

In addition, Foodies will offer their sweet chocolate crepes, made fresh on the spot, for sale at $8 per crepe.
Other treats at the Chocolate Festival include the very popular chocolate fountain, an old-fashioned bake sale table (with whole cakes, cookies and cupcakes), a full bar (including some specialty chocolate drinks) for the adult patrons, the annual chocolate cookie bake off (to determine the best chocolate cookie baker in Davis), a free popcorn station so that chocolate tasting guests can cleanse their palates, live music by local band According to Bazooka, and much more.
The Davis Chocolate Festival is organized by a 19-member committee of members of the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge, co-chaired by Kurt Roggli and Dave Rosenberg. “If you love chocolate, this is the place to be on November 3,” said Co-chair Kurt Roggli. “It’s delicious fun for all ages, and an enjoyable social event as well.”

Most of the funds raised from the Chocolate Festival will be donated to the Davis Encampment, a unit of the Odd Fellows, to pay for scholarships for Davis children to attend summer camps or to enjoy other summer experiences. Over the last three years, the Davis Encampment paid for over 200 such scholarships.
The Davis Odd Fellows Lodge is the oldest continually operating organization in the City of Davis, having been chartered in 1870. The Lodge Hall has been at its present location on 2nd Street since 1955. With over 315 members, the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge is the largest Odd Fellows Lodge in California, and the largest in North America. The membership is almost equally divided between men and women, and the age range of members is 17 to 92.
The Davis Odd Fellows are renown for organizing numerous community events benefiting a wide-range of charitable and community groups. In addition to the Chocolate Festival, the Odd Fellows host Thursday Live! music at the Lodge, monthly Odd Fellows Second Sunday Bingo, Breakfast with Santa, Breakfast with the Bunny, the Classic Film Festival, the Taste of Davis, the Zombie Bike Parade, the New Year’s Eve Party for the community, and many more.
