Odd Fellows Bingo is back this Sunday, July 14. All proceeds from Bingo this Sunday will be used to benefit the annual “Relay for Life” which funds research to find cures for cancer. Help fight cancer on Sunday while enjoying real live Bingo right here in Davis.
Doors open at the Odd Fellows Lodge, 415 Second Street, at 12 noon on Sunday, and the first Bingo game begins at 1 p.m. About 14 games are played in the course of the afternoon and Bingo typically ends after the “blackout bingo” game around 4 p.m. This is real, City-of-Davis sanctioned Bingo, approved by the City Council, where players can wine $50 or $60 per game, with $250 given to the winner of the blackout bingo game. Bingo packets are purchased at the door for $20 per packet (or $12 for the economy packet) which supplies bingo cards for all games for the afternoon.
“This is a way to spend a relaxed afternoon in the comfort of the air-conditioned Odd Fellows Lodge Hall,” said Bingo Committee Co-Chair Sherry Richter. “Our Bingo is low key and casual, and it’s perfect for novice players. We welcome the community to participate, have fun with Bingo, win some money, and help fight cancer – all in one afternoon.”
The Odd Fellows also run a snack bar at Bingo with an assortment of food and drink available for purchase for the Bingo players.
Bingo is open to the community, but only adults may participate. Because this is sanctioned gambling, children are not allowed on the Bingo floor.
The Odd Fellows Lodge has operated Bingo in Davis for the past six years and proceeds are provided each month to a charity partner or beneficiary.
