Dear Odd Fellows and Pledges,

1. You Can Help Someone in Need This Holiday. “STEAC” is the Short Term Emergency Action Committee and it has been around in Yolo County for many years, helping to provide food to those who need it. Our Lodge is “adopting” four single men who need some help this holiday season. We are going to provide food boxes to them and gifts, to lighten their load. Coordinating this effort is Jeff Oblinger. Thank you, Jeff, for your great spirit. If you can help provide food and/or one of the items needed in the way of gifts, please contact Jeff and he will give you the specifics. Reach Jeff at jeffnstella@yahoo.com. Timing is now as the food and gifts must be delivered to the Lodge Hall by December 9 (next Wednesday).

2. Adopt-a-Resident Program Launched. Every year we have the opportunity to “adopt a resident” of our Odd Fellows retirement communities in Napa and in Saratoga, by providing gifts for them during the holiday season. This year the program is looking for money so that the Adopt-a-Resident Committee can purchase gifts for the residents and deliver them on December 15 and 16. Please see the attached letter from the Grand Master on this worthwhile program. Your donation of $15 or $20 will buy a nice gift for a resident. Again, timing is everything, as they want to deliver gifts to residents in about two weeks! The attached letter gives you instructions of where to send your donations. Contact Nancy Johnson, Grand Marshal, 510-673-3958 to donate or help support the program.

3. Breakfast with Santa Sponsors Exceed Our Expectations. As Chair of the Breakfast with Santa Committee, I am pleased to announce that our sponsor donations have exceeded our expectations. Davis Campbell and the Stuart Foundation have committed to contributing $5,000 to BWS as an Event Sponsor, and the Yoche Dehe Wintun Nation has committed to a $1,000 contribution as an Event Sponsor. David Cougevan and Nicole Davis of Edward Jones Investments are Santa Level Sponsors contributing $500. Other sponsors include Tandem Properties, Inc., Tim Ainsworth, Brooks Painting, Inc., an Anonymous Contribution from Odd Fellows, Raquel Silva, Attorney at Law, Beth and Bob Dovi, Joyce Trujillo, Lea and Dave Rosenberg, Law Offices of Roberta Savage, Sherry and Tony Pruitt, Arun Sen, Allison Zuvela, Davis Ace, Louanne and Brian Horsfield, Dennis Corcoran, Bob Schelen, Barbara and Zachary Wochok and Yolo County Supervisor Jim Provenza. Thank you to all our sponsors. As a result of all these sponsors, we will receive contributions totaling over $9,000. We are finalizing our list of sponsors and going to print. Last chance if you wish to be listed as a sponsor. Contact me ASAP.

4. Volunteers Needed For Bell Ringing on December 18. Odd Fellows and Pledges are ringing the bell again this year on Friday, December 18, at the Main Davis Post Office. We have 8 1-hour shifts starting at 9:15 and ending at 5 – and we like to have to people on a shift (it’s better with a buddy). So, we need 16 volunteers. Right now we have (let me count) ZERO volunteers. I need 16 members or pledges to step up to the plate, and help out for one hour on December 18. It’s easy duty, and all the money raised stays in Yolo County. Please write to me if you can help.
