Odd Fellows Summer Camp Scholarship
Summer Scholarships on Hold
The Davis Odd Fellows Encampment has received a tremendous response to our campership fund and we have exhausted the funds for this program.
You may still submit an application. Any new applications will be added to our waiting list.
If we receive additional funding prior to the 2nd half of City of Davis camp registration and pool passes (mid-June), we will contact you.
Thank you for your interest and we wish you all the best.
Odd Fellows Encampment Campership Committee
Continuing a community service begun over 10 years ago, the Davis Odd Fellows Encampment announced that it is now accepting applications for children’s camp scholarships for the summer of 2023. These scholarships enable children to register for programs provided by the City of Davis Parks and Recreation over the summer months.
The Davis Encampment, a part of the Davis Odd Fellows, provides Campership grants for local children to attend City of Davis recreation programs. These grants are needs-based for families who are not financially able to send their children to summer camp or other programs the City of Davis offers.
The City of Davis offers a variety of recreational opportunities for children from ages about 3 to 16. Programs included are:
- swimming lessons,
- alternative recreation for persons with disabilities,
- gymnastics,
- dance programs,
- outdoor education,
- specialty camps,
- special interest classes,
- teen programs, and
- youth sports.
Pool passes will be available this year.
View the full list of programs on the City of Davis Parks and Community Service Summer RecGuide 2023 (cityofdavis.org) website.
The Davis Encampment has adopted, as one of its missions, to facilitate and fund summer programs and summer camp experiences for children who might otherwise not be able to afford a special summer activity.
“We are so pleased that we can continute to give local families the opportunity for their children to enjoy a fun summer experience,” said Juelie Roggli, a member of the Davis Encampment and coordinator of the scholarship program.
Davis Encampment is part of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The Davis Odd Fellows was chartered in 1870, and the Davis Encampment received its charter in 1955.
Funds for the scholarships were raised through several Odd Fellow fundraising events such as Davis Odd Fellows Chocolate Festival, Thursday Live! Holiday Show, and donations from members of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Davis community.
