Dear Dedicated Members for Change,
Fifteen years ago I wrote the first DMC Newsletter. I wrote it because I saw the numbers of Odd Fellows diminishing rather dramatically and the numbers of Lodges dropping year after year.  The diminution of members and Lodges was, in my opinion, unsustainable and was a threat to the very future of the Order. So DMC was formed and the DMC Newsletters began publishing to offer suggestions on how we could add new members and strengthen and retain Lodges. Our focus was simple. Membership, membership, membership.
Fifteen years is a long time. It’s a generation. It’s 180 months; 780 weeks; 5,475 days. In that time our email list has grown to several hundred Odd Fellows and we have written over 600 DMC Newsletters.
I believe we have helped dozens of Lodges learn how to be more active in their communities, and we have energized hundreds of Odd Fellows to be more proactive in bringing in prospective members and in retaining existing members. We have offered, through the newsletters, many proven suggestions on how to do so.  And Lodges that have embraced these suggestions have thrived.
But all good things must come to an end, eventually.  And the “eventually” is now. I find after fifteen years of articles that I am starting to repeat myself. And I believe that Lodges that haven’t tried a different approach to growth are unlikely to try it at this late date.
So, I say goodbye, au revoir, adios, auf wedersehen, do svidaniya.  You can still find prior DMC Newsletters on the Davis Odd Fellows Lodge website www.DavisLodge.org.
