Dear Dedicated Members for Change,

As the new Grand Master of California, I chose “Evolution and Change” as my watchwords. I chose those words because if we don’t evolve as an Order and change our fraternal trajectory, we will continue to diminish. We have been losing members steadily for some 70 years. We have fewer members in California today than we had in 1860.

I also appointed a “Dedicated Members for Change Committee in my year – focused on our declining membership and on ways to reverse that trend. This committee is a think tank of bright and creative minds. One of those bright and creative minds is Richard Perri, a member of Yerba Buena Lodge #15 and a well-known San Francisco artist. I hope you enjoy his submission.
