The Davis Odd Fellows Lodge has been authorized by the Davis City Council to operate Bingo with cash prizes to winners. The Odd Fellows run Bingo – open to the public for anyone over 18 years of age – at the Odd Fellows Hall, 415 Second Street, Davis, on the second Sunday of the month. Doors open at 12 noon and Bingo begins at 1 p.m. Usually 14 games are played and the afternoon concludes around 4 p.m. It costs $20 to buy a full packet of Bingo cards lasting all afternoon, or an economy pack is available for $12. Winners can receive up to $250 in the final “blackout” Bingo game. In addition, instant winner pull-tabs are available for purchase. The Odd Fellows Lodge has been chartered in Davis since 1870, and at its current location on Second Street since 1955. It has operated Bingo for the community for the last decade, providing some $70,000 in financial support to the beneficiary organizations over that time.
“We have some regular and loyal customers who look forward to Bingo every month,” said Odd Fellows Lodge Noble Grand Lea Rosenberg, who also doubles as a regular Bingo caller. “And every month we also have new players affiliated with our beneficiaries, or just dropping in to play. The players have a fun afternoon, and have the chance of winning some pocket money. The Lodge is pleased to provide this monthly amenity to our community.”
The next Bingo game is scheduled on Sunday, January 11, 2015, with doors opening at 12, and Bingo play beginning at 1 p.m. The public is cordially invited. The January 2015 beneficiary is Team Davis.
Co-chairs for the Bingo Committee in 2014 were Salie Yin and Eric Davis. The Co-chairs for the Bingo Committee in 2015 will be Jean-Paul Montreuil and Jeff Oblinger.
